Introduction

BigMe Softwares ("we", "our", or "us") operates the FollowFollow mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App uses, where it goes, and how it is protected.

In short: your reminders and saved places live on your device. When you use an AI feature, the content needed for that request is sent securely to our server, which passes it to our AI and mapping providers and returns the result. Our server does not keep it. We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you.

Information Stored on Your Device

  • Reminders: titles, times, repeat settings, spoken messages and their audio files.
  • Saved places: locations, names, notes, photos and voice memos you add.
  • Settings and usage counts: your preferences and how many reminders, imports and calendar photos you have used, so the App can apply your plan's limits.

This information stays on your device. It is not uploaded to us and is not synced to any cloud service by the App. You can export it or erase it at any time in the App's Settings ("Export All Data" / "Delete All Data"), or by deleting the App.

Information Sent for AI and Mapping Features

Only when you use the feature, the App sends the following to our server over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection:

  • Voice recordings: to turn what you say into text.
  • Reminder text: to understand dates and times, and to write the friendly spoken message.
  • Existing reminder titles and times: when you ask to change a reminder by voice, so the right one can be found.
  • Spoken message text: to create the voice audio you hear.
  • Calendar photos: when you import events from a photo of a calendar.
  • An address or a location (latitude/longitude): when you search for an address or save a place, to look up the address or coordinates.
  • Your app language and time zone: so dates and replies are correct for you.

Our server forwards this to the provider that performs the task (see Third-Party Services) and sends the result back to your device. Our server does not store your recordings, reminder text, photos or locations. The only thing it keeps is the alarm safety net's small table of push tokens and reminder times, described below.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your name, Apple ID, or payment details. To check which features you have (your 30-day Starter month, the one-time unlock, or a Basic or Premium subscription), the App sends our server the purchase receipts that Apple signs for this App (StoreKit). Our server verifies Apple's signature, works out your access, and gives the App a pass that expires after 24 hours. Nothing about your purchase is stored on our server.

Alarm Safety Net (silent wake-up notifications)

Your reminders ring from your iPhone's own notification system, which works without internet. As a backup, the App also tells our server when its next reminders are due, and a few minutes before each one the server sends your phone a silent push notification that lets the App wake up and check its schedule. If your phone has no internet, the push simply doesn't arrive and your reminders still ring as usual.

For this, our server stores:

  • A push token for your install, a random code issued by Apple that lets us address a notification to your phone. It does not identify you or your Apple ID, and it changes when you reinstall.
  • A random reminder identifier and the time each upcoming reminder is due (up to 40, within the next 14 days).
  • Whether the install is a test (TestFlight) or App Store install.

It does not store what the reminder says, where it is, or anything you typed or spoke. Reminder times are deleted a day after they pass; a phone we haven't heard from in 60 days is removed, and so is one Apple reports as having deleted the App. The silent pushes travel through Apple's push notification service. Deleting the App ends this immediately.

Server Logs

Like most websites, our web host may automatically record standard connection information for requests to our server (such as IP address, date and time, and the address requested) for security and troubleshooting. These logs do not contain the content of your requests to the App's server.

Add-to-FollowFollow links: other apps and websites can offer links that add a reminder to the App (see our Developers page). The App always shows you the link's contents and asks before adding anything, and that happens on your phone, not on our servers. If such a link is opened in a web browser instead of the App (for example when the App isn't installed), the link, including the reminder text it carries, is part of the web address and may appear in our web host's standard logs. We do not use it.

Third-Party Services

  • OpenAI (speech-to-text, understanding reminders, spoken messages, text-to-speech and calendar photo reading): receives the content listed above for AI features. Under OpenAI's API policies, data sent through its API is not used to train its models by default and may be kept for a limited time for abuse monitoring. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Maps Platform (Geocoding): receives an address or coordinates when you search for an address or save a place. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple: App Store purchases and subscriptions, local and push notifications (including the silent safety-net wake-ups), Siri shortcuts, and Apple's built-in address lookup, which the App uses when Google's is unavailable. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Requests reach these providers from our server, so they do not receive your Apple ID or device identifiers from us.

Permissions

  • Microphone: to record voice reminders and voice memos.
  • Location: only to save a place when you ask, and for reminders tied to places you saved. We do not track your location in the background for any other purpose.
  • Camera and Photos: to take or pick photos of places and calendars, and to save QR codes you create.
  • Notifications: to deliver your reminders.
  • Siri: to save places and create reminders hands-free.

You can change any permission at any time in iPhone Settings > FollowFollow.

What We Don't Do

  • No accounts or sign-up.
  • No advertising, ad tracking, or selling or sharing of your data with data brokers.
  • No analytics or tracking tools inside the App.

If you choose to share crash reports with app developers in iPhone Settings, Apple may share anonymous crash and performance reports with us. These contain no reminder content.

Security

All communication between the App and our server uses encrypted HTTPS. Our server checks that requests come from the genuine App and a valid App Store purchase. API keys for our providers are kept only on our server, never in the App. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your Choices and Rights

  • Export: export your reminders and places from the App's Settings.
  • Delete: erase everything with "Delete All Data" in Settings, or delete the App.
  • Limit sharing: you can use the App without AI features. Content is only sent when you use an AI or address feature.
  • Questions or requests: contact us using the details below. Because we don't keep your content or an account on our server, there is usually nothing stored about you for us to access or delete.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new Privacy Policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
